I’ve been thinking about wave and particles. Specifically the double-slit experiment and how to wrap my head around what light is, and ultimately what everything else is.
I’m presupposing that energy is a vibration. At the point where it excites the particles past a certain level, the particles or molecules change state. Here are my thoughts:
Physicists say that the slit ‘forces particles to choose’, but what if it doesn’t? What if instead, some movement of space or dimension or something imperceptible to us causes an oscillation and the movement is so incredibly fast that just that gazillionth of a second between one photon and the other is enough to change its location in space? What if as one by one each photon is shot through the slit, we could record that as the oscillation of the wave that is vibrating the photons.
I’ve also been trying to figure out frequencies and how for example a red light wave differs from a blue, and what it all means. Is it possible that each ‘level’ of vibration represents a different dimension? For example, if a red photon is in the ‘red’ dimension and oscillates at a certain level, then the wave will move the particles a wider length as they pass through the slit than a photon moving through the ‘blue’ dimension. This is a pretty extreme view…just throwing the idea out there…
All we have is our perception of reality, but our perceptions are based on a brain that sees solid objects where there is space and color where there are frequencies. Our brain filters out the sound of our heartbeat in our ears and the spinning of the earth. Maybe it’s also filtering out the shaking of our being. How many other things are invisible to us? Until we understand our brain’s translation, we can’t understand reality.
I’m an amateur playing in a complex field, and these ideas have no doubt been discussed in super-mathematical and technical terms elsewhere, but I haven’t seen it, at least not in these terms. I would welcome counterpoints and further discussion…
Okay, I’ve shaken my brain enough for one evening…carry on.
