New Ideas

I’m always about three ideas behind. I guess that’s what happens when it takes three-six months to write a book. Today I came up with a great idea for a new novel. However, before I act on it, I have to finish the When, Were, & Howl series, finish my current cowboy WIP (work in progress) novel. In the meantime, I’ve still got two other ideas that are in first page/outline stage that need to be fleshed out and that I’m eager to work on.

I guess it’s not a bad thing to have things percolating. I’m just afraid that I won’t get to them all. In the meantime, I haven’t painted in months and want to do an oil for my cowboy novel…not sure if I’ll actually do an oil though, because it feels like there’s just not enough time in the day.

And here I am blogging. Okay, off I go. First to write down the outline of the idea that flashed willy-nilly through my mind and next to get started on that pesky last novelette for When, Were, & Howl.

I’ve been having a hard time starting it, because it’s my last one. Maybe if I tell myself there will be more…

  1. This is how I feel, and I know I am lucky that I have ideas/outlines to spare. The thought of not having time to get to them before they dissolve scares me, but so does the thought of losing focus on my current project before it is finished.
